second coat....done! OK, almost done.

it's so hard to know where to start! for me, once i get out of the blogging loop it's even more difficult to jump back in. it's like i need to wait until i have the most perfect bunny photo ever in the history of the world or i don't deserve to be allowed to come back without some sort of dire consequences...oh, it's not that big of a deal? ok!

well then, here we are with a mediocre bunny photo!

a few years ago i would have never thought i'd be so crippled by bunny photos, the pressure i put on myself is perhaps a wee bit more than you might imagine. then let's toss a little cross country bunny relocating project on top of it! that's enough to shut me right down.

oh, you don't care...right! back to bunnies....

first and foremost, we have not left yet. we are leaving for sure before oct. 1. that's when my cabin will be taken over by it's new occupant. however we may be leaving sooner....i've been instructed to tell everyone who asks that i'm leaving in two weeks. just so that everything isn't left until the last minute. there has been a long list of things to take care of and things unexpected and things that have a propensity to create some stress and things that aren't as stressful as you'd maybe think but i'd prefer to just skip all of that and get right to the good stuff.

our first camper trailer fell through at the last minute, so we had to scramble to find another one. we did! it's the one here in this photo. a 1968 shasta!!! i'm in the process of getting it gussied up for the ride and all the upcoming documentation!

i've been taking the boys out for little practice rides in the car...it's going pretty well. bells will be the trickiest, but we'll be packing cisapride, my oral syringe collection and anything else i can think of to jump start a bunny. oh yes, and most importantly, ALL their Xpens so that they get tons of exercise along the way. we're planning on staying at state parks and bunny friendly campsites. mr. perfect, (let's just call him that from now on) has purchased an enormous heavy duty waterproof tent so that even if it's raining i can run them around inside the tent to keep them active and hopefully happy!

nuage had a bot fly incident recently too which was nothing serious, but still very scary! neither one of them has been let outside since, or not much, unless i can run around beside his wound with a fly swatter. but he's finally looking all healed up from his lancing and will be perhaps let out tomorrow when he might be having a very special visitor....lisee is driving up here at some point to meet them before we leave and we couldn't be more excited!!! we're thinking she may be coming tomorrow!

i know there's tons of other stuff to tell you but i also know all you really care about is more photos, so let me get this camper painted and cushions refabric'ed and finish up the rest of the maintenance checking and propane tank filling and water holding thingy cleaning then packed and then mail all my stuff out west and sell what i can and then give the rest to sal's army and then i'll be up and at 'em once again with my camera i promise!!!!! and now that the pressure is off since i'm going to settle into mediocre bunny photos i may even post a little more often.

thank so much for checking with us and for asking how we're doing....it means a lot!!!!!

the long and the fur of it.....

fly, drive, fly, drive....the votes are in, and it's a landslide!!! driving the bunnies it is!! now these bunnies have been driven places before so i'm not going into this all innocently, bright eyed, bushy tailed and full of ignorant optimism. BUT as with everything bunny, hoping for the best. i know full well that bells could pull a little GI stasis out of his hat, stopping the whole thing wherever and for however long he damn well pleases....like the bunny version of russian roulette.

in fact we just picked out our camper trailer too. it's a sweet little number that pops up and down and folds in and out and will make a nice resting place for our growing family. yup! we have a new addition...and it's not a furry friend, in fact he's not furry at all! nor is he two inches off the ground either.

cliff notes please.....

wait just a minute now...is this a bunny blog or a danielle steele novel? it's a bunny blog!!! so please squelch the romance talk....let's just say that we were dear friends and roommates 20 years ago and now after all this time he's found me again, thank you very much goo goo goo google!

there's a whole lot of lovey-dovey stuff im leaving out, but the skinny version is that he's coming back out here in a few weeks to get me and the bunnies and take us back to the west coast. sure there were talks of him moving here, but guess what? besides being absolutely fabulous, and ridiculously adorable, (he knows it too, not unlike a very tall bunny) but he's actually got a job to boot! supposedly there's more where that comes from, so with bunnies in tow, we're making the trek. ever since my first trip there, oregon has always been my favorite state and now i hear there's a whole bunch of glass studios! AND D moll!!! foon!!! tamara!!!! malcolm and nadine!!!! lynne!!!!! aren't too far away....can you guys even imagine when i get my hands on amelia or nibs?!?!?!

we'll be here until the end of september. so jade, lisee, lisa, shell....and ANYONE else who has wanted to meet the bunnies we're still right here!!! so get yourselves in gear and come visit! those of you out west or even in the middle i'm not sure how this is all going to work, but we may be driving right past your house! depending on how little bells does, he really does hate the car....we may be stopping for extended periods of time, hence the camper!

in conclusion...

i'm starting this adventure by putting them in the car for brief rabbit reality adjustments. they'll just sit inside while nothing traumatic happens. they'll be outfitted with their favorite treats tunnels and blankets while they're doing this. then after a few times of it not being at all scary...we'll go on little trips. then we'll go on bigger trips. then we'll just drive from new york to oregon, easy peasey. right?! they will have the entire back of my exterra all to themselves and i'll have it flattened out and comfy cozy so that one of us can crawl back there and make sure that bells isn't piercing nuage's back and neck with his claws....which is what he usually does, but i've never had a co pilot before!!! we're also only packing their x pen collection in the camper so as soon as we stop they'll have up to 4000 feet of bunny run around room in any state park that's luck enough to have them! do you think that's enough?

i sure do want to thank you ALL for your advice and your stories and so many great ideas!!!!! i also want to thank those of you who helped me so much with your RAW file input. turns out i needed to install the software that came with the camera. duh! i've done all that now, but i still haven't braved trying to download them! i have no room on my hard disc...the story of my life. so i have to move stuff to the external hard drive, then delete and then learn to edit RAW files and then i'll have an empty memory card to take more bunny photos with! how lame am i? that's rhetorical...i know darn well how lame i am, so zip it!

oh and bunny girl, you mean you're NOT the diary of a slow triathlete? i always thought you were! she must have been confused by some of my comments then...

more Iphone photos and some bunnillion dollar questions

ok, ok, ok, ready, set, go! here's the letter i just sent my vet....who wants in on it? i'd love to read as much feedback as possible so all you know it all bunny mamas and papas with opinions as long as the day....let 'em rip or forever hold your peas.

so without further ado, here's the letter/bombshell:

i'm moving to oregon, and i'm really at a loss for how to try to figure out the best way to get the bunnies across the country. it's just bells and nuage still.

if i flew them maybe they could be sedated? could i administer the sedative or would a vet need to do it? i'm not sure how i'd schedule a vet visit AND a trip to the airport, they're in the opposite direction. how long is the longest one that is still safe for them, that i could give them? and finally, do their ears need to pop like ours do?

i'm about an hour and 20 minutes from the nearest airport and then i'm sure id need to get there early, so all in all they may be traveling/stressing for about 10 hours or so. delta airline lets small animals on board, obviously i'd NEVER check them with cargo.

OR

i could try to drive them out very slowly.....taking my time and stopping regularly even for a day or two or three if need be and not driving for more then 4 hours at a time, but that would be long term ongoing stress. i could practice by trying to get them used to the car starting now, if i plan on leaving in approx 2 months.

in a way i wonder about flying, thinking it could mean instant death, or just hurry up and get it over with having all my little bag of bunny emergency stuff ready to implement upon landing.

what would you do? fly or drive....i have no set schedule, just waiting for it to cool off before trying.

the people have spoken!

bunny chaise

now i am sure none of us respond well to the expression "dumb bunny...." but come on guys. it's 102 degrees outside! why do you lay on top of each other, and why do you let each other do this?!?!? sorry for the quality of this image but i'm sort of forced into phone photos for now. i'll dig through the archives soon and get you some quality shots...i just didn't know anyone missed us....wink wink.

we respond well to peer pressure and nagging, so if we disappear again just send us a "WTheck" note!

is this beautiful weather getting you down? bells to the rescue!

bells wasn't sure if all you bunny people knew what an eating periscope looked like...here's his demo.

nuage, and the technology that can barely keep up with him.

these bunnies do not understand the rain unless i take them out in it and let them get soaked which i would never do. so lets just go back to...these bunnies do not understand rain or it's restrictions.

they've been inside all weekend and have been pouting. so yesterday i couldn't take their sad little faces or their ankle nudges urging me to put their towels down. the towels are sort of the textural and psychological drawbridge between the cabin and the rest of the world. well i didn't put their towels down, but i left the door open. they both just got over it, after watching them brave the wood floor i knew they had won. nuage was zipping around so much my camera turned him into a bit of a blur...sorry about the phone video. i gotta mix it up every now and then.

bunnies up, bunnies down.

viewer: BEWARE!

how can you go wrong with bells in flowers? you can't! unless of course you ran over some of the flowers with your car before you realized that maybe you can drop everything, go back to the cabin, be 30 minutes late so you can go grab a bunny for some quickies. sorry about the dirt speckles, but now he looks like he's been 4 wheelin', oh my rugged bunnies!

decisions decisions....just too much cute to be cut throat.

excessive bunny periscopes below.

blogger! WTheck! changing my posting order against my will.....you'll soon rue the day!

has anyone else been having this problem...when i put a title on some posts blogger then switches the posting order and even if i delete and start over it maintains the order it decided to post my images. also anohter thing i've been less than pleased with is, sometimes blogger posts my images without my retouching. i'll upload a photo that has been retouched and when it's posted the retouching is gone. i know this may not seem like an emergency but it is.

speaking of emergencies http://blog.rabbitnetwork.org/?p=2265

sweet thang tamara sent me this link about an angora rescue. my heart pretty much stopped when i clicked on it. for those of you who click, you'll see why immediately, the fats doppelganger! not just his coloring but his attitude! look at those back paws of his just hanging off the table as if, or the look on face saying what are you waiting for???? come get me! of course i mapquested the rescue and they are 3:33 minutes away....what AM i waiting for??? i don't know. my heart feels weird and i'm not sure how much i can take, so for now i just obeyed tamara and sent them a whole bunch of apple branches. if you can help you know where to click.

periscope overload yet?

just doing what we can to pick up the slack for D moll.

post blondie.

blondie had a sound check last friday night. nuage went. he was one of 4 there, front and center too. she commented on how fluffy he was, and then right as i got my camera out to photograph the two of them the sound part of sound check started so i whisked him out immediately. this photo was taken right outside her rehearsal...how bummed does he look? the answer is not as bummed as he looks now that i gave him a summer 'do'. photos coming soon!

apple branches apple branches....eat all about them! going out picking now so get your orders in pronto! or lickety split, whichever you prefer.

the apple branches are getting rave reviews, this has been so much fun to read about all the bunnies loving them!!! i was asked recently if the branches still have blossoms on them. now they don't, but they still have yummy lush leaves and the bunnies go berserk for the green as well.

one bunny mama said she even put the branches in water once they arrived and to her surprise the blossoms and leaves perked right up as if just freshly picked.

all apple branches are harvested humanely and on the same day as shipping. what more could you want???

if you want apple branches email me ASAP! contact@rubinelliglass.com

even better still....

bunny metronome, D MOLL strikes again!

correct me if i'm wrong but i do believe nuage is bobbing his head in time with the music around the 27 second mark....would i be out of line to say that he's dancing?

you're probably wondering what were the bunnies doing hanging out with (ahem) CE lawrence.....video coming right up!

WHO is CE lawrence you ask? click on the title up there and it will take you to her website. or if you don't mind me cutting and pasting all fancy like, here's a little ditty about here:

“C. E. Lawrence has achieved a rare level of authenticity, not only in character development but also in the realistic use of behavioral science. If you want to read a serial-killer thriller that’s solidly based on frightening reality, this is the one.” --Louis B Schlesinger, Ph.D., professor of forensic psychology, John Jay College of Criminal Justice

so remember, if you're going to scream around a bunny it better be silent!

inquiring minds? let the Q and A begin.

what is going on here? nuage is getting the raspberry prickers pulled out of his furry underneathe as bells is a little displaced being head groomer.

THE apple branch office.

why haven't i done a click and ship button yet for the potentially nervous apple branch empire?

i don't know. i've gone to the site a couple of times but before the button settles on PN something always interrupts me.

can you still buy apple branches anyway?

yes yes!! for a limited time we have two sizes. the $5 sample size. about 5 oz. of tender young fresh branches.

then the 1lb tried and true box of bunny yumminess for $20 size. shipping on the one pound box about $9 prepaid anywhere in the US. and arrives in 3 days coast to coast.

$5 for the 3oz size. it really is a little hard to swing making it worth it for the $5 box so that size will be discontinued once you all know that your bunnies like the branches.

i'll soon be including some of the bunny reviews, so if your bunnies have tried them already and you want to send in their feedback please do so!! shell, tell razzie and sugar that since they sent me their bad branches as a taste test i'll be sending them some of these irresistible ones with the blossoms and the leaves still on them, for their discriminating palette.

i'm planning on shipping overseas as well, so the cost of shipping will vary depending upon your location.

on a scale of 1-10 how mad is bells?

pretty mad. i'm guessing maybe an 8? you see, he is and has ALWAYS been, a chronic bed wetter. which is why you never really see any photos of him on a bed. in the past he has even wet the bed if he is on a mattress for less than a minute. ever since fatty left though he has been really good and has seemed to appreciate the trust that we were building about letting him on the bed. HOWEVER, not long ago i became friends with someone new. that new friend has kept me out later than usual. that's not something little bells is used to so he's developed his own very special way of punishing me.

when i came home after midnight not long ago there were enough poops to feed a small army on the bed and he had peed seven times. for all i know he must have even coerced nuage into joining him as i don't think he could have possibly stored up that much of a urine arsenal in the time i was gone. so now in my linen's defense, i sleep in a cage.

is nuage in a cage?!?!

NO! i am. see explanation below. truth be told i think he is protecting bells from his own fury about being slightly restricted and losing mattress privileges. how many bunny mama's sleep in a cage so their rabbits can be free range....anyone?!?!? have i finally gone round the bend for good?

spinning asks: What is the large white panel that you're using to keep them away from the wall inside?

silly spinning....it's NOT to keep them from the wall inside it's for them to play in.

what a nice coincidence though that their inside one keeps them from the wall inside since that wall has all sorts of enormous cords coming out of it!

but IF the bunnies knew that their SHUTTERS were to keep them away from something rather than for their own entertainment they may not like them so much....so let's keep this as our little secret.

who the heck is this?

this is cheeks and lula mae. they belong to my new friend. i've been bringing over x pens links to his house so that they can run around. they haven't done much running in the past from what i can tell and they seem to really love it.

and this?

my lovely bunny loving next door neighbors.
